Position Description
Unimacts is looking for a General Operator for its Conroe, Texas operations. Our employees are “industrial business athletes” and can be effective in many roles, the key responsibility of this person is to take a “hands on” active role in the development of our Las Vegas plant.
The General Operator will comply with production and quality standards, as well as have general knowledge throughout the area, knowledge of technical specifications, management of procedures and work instructions and production programs within our Las Vegas manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Keep the work area clean and safe according to the 5’S.
- Capture the coil data in the system.
- Change the print of each reel.
- Cover all areas when required.
- Perform welding tests.
- Remove the burr from the HF weld.
- Be monitoring the entire area.
- Comply with and enforce internal work and safety and hygiene rules.
Requirement and Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical reports, schematics and diagrams.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization (improvising solutions).
- Demonstrate the ability to complete assigned tasks and maintain performance standards.
- Ability to respond to common questions or complaints from supervisors and managers.
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts and overtime (if required) in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in an environment of continuous change and accelerated pace.
- Work well as a team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
- Capacity to provide and follow direction.
- Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
- Ability to work extended hours, as required.
- Basic maintenance experience.
- Problem solving and teamwork skills.
